It was an honor to have had the opportunity to photograph the wedding of MaKayla and Dakota.  I’ve known MaKayla’s family for almost 15 years and I have had the opportunity to coach 3 of the young ladies when they were in high school.  I’ve grown especially fond of MaKayla’s family as they are just the sweetest.

MaKayla and Dakota planned a winter wedding in February.  Our crazy Michigan weather didn’t give us much of a winter look other than a light snow dusting a few days before the wedding day and brisk temperatures on that special day.  The pretty afternoon allowed us to brave the cold and capture the family portraits outdoors.  It was very pretty, with a light snowfall in the middle of family formals.

MaKayla is a planner and she had a very organized list complete with ideas of how the day would go.  I really enjoyed every moment of this day with her.  I’m so lucky to have had the chance to watch her grow up and reach this milestone.  It was a blessing to be a part of their special day.
